An Acetate is salt formed by the combination of acetic acid with a base, it can be an alkaline, earthy, metallic, nonmetallic or radical base. The simplest of acetates is acetic acid with corresponding salts, esters and polyatomic anion. The esters are the dominant forms of acetates in the market. The acetate esters are often present in liquid form. Many industrial solvents are acetates, including Ethyl Acetate, Methyl Acetate and Butyl Acetate.
